Nik Boyle
Private Chef, Jersey
Award-winning chef Nik Boyle initially moved to Jersey and took over as Head Chef at the renowned restaurant, Sumas.
After a period of time, Nik decided to host private, discreet & exclusive dinner parties for HNWI residents in Jersey.
A subtle online presence was required. Nik Boyle’s private chef business relies on word of mouth and discretion, with absolutely no social media.
About the client:
Cuisine Privee by Nik Boyle
Cuisine Privee by Nik Boyle is the latest culinary adventure from Chef Nik Boyle.
The concept is refreshingly simple; high-quality restaurant-quality food, in your own home – without it being splashed all over social media.
In the age of AI search (AEO/GEO), being cited by AI Overviews was an important string to add to search intent.
The Challenge
The project posed an interesting design and ecological challenge.
With potential clients wanting discretion, there is no cookies, and no data transferred to third parties – the only way to engage Chef Nik Boyle’s services, initially, is through email.
Obviously, that poses bot data scraping risks, so we’ve implemented code that reduces the amount of spam our client receives, whilst making the email available to humans.
For such a minimalist website, speed and integrity are of paramount importance, which also reduces the carbon footprint.
The Solution
QED approached the Nik Boyle – Private Chef Jersey website as a case study in sustainable web design for a One page website with leading-edge SEO & AI Search.
We developed a bespoke WordPress website designed from the ground up for speed, efficiency, and accessibility, along with minimal data retention for users to maintain that level of integrity.
A deep rich blue with creamy yellow tones were chosen not just for elegance but for their energy-efficient rendering, reducing overall carbon impact.
Using custom-coded popups instead of extra pages kept navigation simple and reduced server requests.
Other key technical achievements include:
- Eco-optimised performance: 0.02g CO₂ per page load – placing the website in the top 4% of cleanest websites globally
- Fonts loaded locally from our server: This reduces calls to Google, and reliance on Elementor.
- Next-generation image formats: Crisp imagery optimised for modern browsers, using WEBP.
- Full SSL and GDPR friendly analytics setup: Secure, data-driven infrastructure for continuous performance insights.
The Results
The finished site is not only fast and elegant but also measurably sustainable.
With a CO₂ footprint of just 0.02g per page load, the Cuisine Privee website ranks among the most eco-efficient hospitality sites in the UK.
Nik is thrilled with the outcome; within the 48hrs of the website being launched, his website was being cited in Google’s AI overviews and ranking on page one of web search.
Business Impacts
The new Cuisine Privee website gives Chef Nik Boyle a digital presence that aligns perfectly with his ethos of integrity, discretion, and subtlety.
It enhances visibility, supports bookings, and reflects the ethos he’s built a reputation on.
For hospitality businesses, this project proves that eco-conscious design doesn’t mean compromise – it means performance with purpose.
