Design process
Our website design process
A high-performing website is not “designed”…
…it’s engineered around user journeys, clarity, and speed.
Our website design process is a structured three-step build that keeps decisions simple while protecting quality: we define what the site must achieve, design a system that supports it, then launch with technical checks that prevent slowdowns and ranking issues. .
We only build on WordPress, utilising our 20+ years experience of the platform, and focus on fast, lightweight pages that load quickly and are easy to maintain.
Every project includes practical SEO foundations, and a launch checklist so nothing is missed. If you want a site that looks sharp, loads fast, and is easier to grow, this is how we deliver it.
Process
The web design journey
- Discover (strategy) → goals, users, content, SEO baseline, structure
- Design (UX and build) → wireframes, visual system, page templates, on-page SEO
- Deliver (launch and support) → QA, redirects, indexing, tracking, handover, support

How I've helped two very different small businesses
Step One
Discovery
What we do
- Clarify your business goals (leads, calls, bookings, enquiries)
- Identify key audiences and what they need to see to trust you
- Review competitors and search intent
- Audit existing content, pages, and technical constraints
What you get
- A written discovery summary (objectives, priorities, risks)
- Recommended site structure (pages or one-page sections)
- A homepage plan based on conversion sections
What we need from you
- Examples of sites you like and dislike
- Any brand assets (logo, colours, photos)
- A rough list of services and locations you want to target
Step Two
Design & Build
What we do
- Wireframe key sections so layout solves problems before visuals do
- Build a small design system: typography, buttons, spacing, components
- Implement the site in WordPress with a performance-first mindset
- Apply on-page SEO fundamentals (headings, internal links, metadata, image handling)
What you get
- A working site you can click through early (not just mock-ups)
- A reusable layout system so new pages stay consistent
- Clear guidance on content improvements where it affects SEO and conversion
Step Three
Deliver, launch, and support
- Mobile and desktop QA
- Speed and Core Web Vitals checks
- 404 checks, redirects (for website redesigns), indexation readiness
- Analytics and tracking checks
- Support period, dependent on package selected
- Training: how to edit key areas without breaking layout
- A short improvement plan for the next 30 to 90 days (based on real data)
